Too, too bad we'll never know what happens next!Julie at Outlandish Dreaminghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16595989966510183531noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4781006155885226657.post-14017297187924912522012-08-22T00:14:01.325-04:002012-08-22T00:14:01.325-04:00I loved this series, and came upon them by acciden...I loved this series, and came upon them by accident. They really drew me in, and did remind me of Diana Gabaldon, although both authors have their own voice. Adelia is a relatable heroine, and is very modern in her outlook. The books would make a fantastic tv series. It is a shame that we will never have a tidy conclusion for Adelia, but I am pleased to have read the books.Lynda in Lethbridgehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12785850645046161509noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4781006155885226657.post-26394553111501835972011-12-10T12:26:18.596-05:002011-12-10T12:26:18.596-05:00I think Rowley is Adelia's great love, plus of...I think Rowley is Adelia's great love, plus of course, she has his daughter.

But Franklin made Captain O'Donnell SO attractive. And after all, Rowley won't give up his high station in life to marry Adelia....!

I too like the way Henry is depicted. :)Yvettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08919246184376538331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4781006155885226657.post-33479319419456804612011-11-28T18:17:36.054-05:002011-11-28T18:17:36.054-05:00Yes, they would make very good movies - thrillers!...Yes, they would make very good movies - thrillers! It killed me the way this book left off with Rowley! Aaargh! Although, I'm sure she wouldn't have killed him off, but we'll never know will we. I searched on the internet to see if there was any news about notes on a next book, but nothing came up. :( I liked the idea of a rival for Rowley since he can't marry her - and O'Donnell could! Though she seems pretty devoted to Rowley, despite everything, unless she thought he was dead. Eep! But, how could she, Mistress of the Art of Death mistake someone for dead? I'm just jumping to all sort of possible scenarios!Julie at Outlandish Dreaminghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16595989966510183531noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4781006155885226657.post-79437320205234776092011-11-28T18:12:35.246-05:002011-11-28T18:12:35.246-05:00I, too, love this series. Though every book is wonderful in its own way.

I was wondering as well what would happen to Captain O'Donnell. I wonder if there might be some notes or maybe a partial manuscript??

At least in her books, Ariana Franklin will live forever.

And by the way, wouldn't they make great films??Yvettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08919246184376538331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4781006155885226657.post-53446289909156244882011-11-26T15:32:54.772-05:002011-11-26T15:32:54.772-05:00Joanne, I know, I couldn't help comparing the ...Joanne, I know, I couldn't help comparing the two, especially since I read A Broken Vessel right after this one back to back, two mystery authors that had died. Such a shame. You should give this series a try, I think you'd like it, especially with Henry II and Eleanor or Aquitaine as side characters. Henry is good in this series, I like the way she depicts him. I think she had a bit of a crush on him. :DJulie at Outlandish Dreaminghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16595989966510183531noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4781006155885226657.post-34797872215194101842011-11-26T15:29:18.261-05:002011-11-26T15:29:18.261-05:00Sounds like a great series, and that is unfortunat...Sounds like a great series, and that is unfortunate that we have lost another talent in the mystery writing world. (I'm thinking also of Kate Ross and the Julien Kestrel series. It had so much potential.)Joannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07716758796036142540noreply@blogger.com
